Carpet care
Regular cleaning and maintenance are needed to keep your carpet looking fantastic year after year. During everyday use, soil clings to carpet fibers and dulls the carpet's beauty. Soil accumulation can also damage carpet fibers by cutting them and increasing the appearance of "wear". Domaine recommends that you routinely remove dry soil with vacuuming to preserve the carpet's life.
If attached soils are not removed with regular cleaning, not only is the life of the carpet reduced, an unhealthy condition may be created. Minute particles, especially those that can be inhaled, can be effectively removed with vacuuming and professional cleaning. Your professional cleaner will have a better understanding of where soil accumulates in carpet, its impact on occupants well being, and a better understanding of vacuuming techniques that results in maximum soil removal. You should always vacuum a carpet prior to having it cleaned.
To maintain your carpet between cleanings Domaine recommends following these carpet care instructions:
1. Vacuum often. Dirt and residue in the carpet will not only make your carpet look bad, but they can also damage carpet fibers. Use a good vacuum for optimum cleanliness
2 Alternate the direction you vacuum. If you vacuum the lenght of the room one day, then vacuum in the direction of the width of the room the next time you vacuum. This will insure you are cleaning all sides of the carpet fibers.
3. Get a new bag. Even though vacuum bags are large, they are not intended to be filled to the top before they are changed. Replace when bag is half to two-thirds full. Use a HEPA type bag.
4. Once the bag is more than half full you begin loosing the efficiency of your vacuum, and you may also be redistributing dust and allergens into your indoor environment |
